THE ELEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS’ PROBLEMS IN USING PASSIVE VOICE AT SMA NU PALANGKA RAYA
The study was aimed at investigating the students’ problems especially in errors using passive voice in simple past tense, simple future tense and past futuretense faced by the eleventh grade students of SMA NU Palangka Raya. The limitation of the study is that result of the study could not be generalized to all schools. It was limited to the eleventh grade students of SMA NU Palangka Raya.
The descriptive study was used to focus on describing the students’ problems, errors, and classified them to the error. The time of the study was from April 16 - Juni 16, 2013 at SMA NU Palangka Raya at R.T.A Milono street. The subjects of this study were 26 students from the students of SMA NU Palangka Raya class XI. The samples in this study ware all of the total numbers of population that consisted of 26 students. In data collection technique, the test was used, observation and documentation. To analyze the data, quantitative calculation was used including validity, reliability, and level of difficulty. Research findings based on linguistic taxonomy, showed that the students’ errors in using passive voice in simple past tense faced by the eleventh grades tudents of SMA NU Palangka Raya were verb phrase, noun phrase, adverb phrase,
auxiliary, word order and sentences.
Research findings based on surface strategy taxonomy, showed that the errors in using passive voice in simple past tense faced by the eleventh grade students of SMA NU Palangka Raya, the errors can be classified into three categories. They were omission, misformation and addition. The highest scores of errors were on misformation with the percentage 57.88%, on omission with the percentage 31.50% and on addition with the percentage 10.62%.
Research findings based on comparative taxonomy, the problems of the students in using passive voice in simple past tense which consist of 10 items show that their problems range from developmental errors as the highest problems to others errors as the lowest problems. The highest problems of the students were developmental errors with the percentage 48.07%, the second were interlingual errors with the percentage frequency 35.58% and the lowest problems were others with the percentage 16.35%.
Research findings based on linguistic taxonomy, showed that the errors in using passive voice in simple future tense faced by the eleventh grade students of SMA NU Palangka Raya were verb phrase, noun phrase, auxiliary, word order and sentences.
Research findings based on surface strategy taxonomy, the errors in using passive voice in simple future tense faced by the eleventh grade students of SMA NU Palangka Raya were classified into four categories. They were omission, misformation, addition and misordering. The highest score of errors were on misformation with the percentage 57.69%, on omission with the percentage 29.57%,on addition with the percentage 8.40% and on misordering with the percentage 4.34%.
Research findings based on comparative taxonomy, the errors made by the students in using passive voice in simple future tense which consist of 10 items showed that their problems range from interlingual errors as the highest problems to others errors as the lowest problems. The highest problems of the students were interlingual errors with the percentage 45.97%, the second were developmental errors with the percentage 40.76% and the lowest problems were others with the percentage 13.27%.
Research findings based on linguistic taxonomy, showed that the errors in using passive voice in simple past future tense faced by the eleventh grade students of SMA NU Palangka Raya were noun phrase, auxiliary, word order, adverb phrase and sentences.

The highest score of errors were on misformation with the percentage 61.29%, on addition with the percentage 29.35% and on omission with the percentage 9.36%.
Research findings based on comparative taxonomy, the problems of the students’ in using passive voice in simple past future tense which consist of 10 items show that their problems range from developmental errors as the highest problems to others errors as the lowest problems.
Based on finding the research of errors using passive voice at the eleventhgrade students’ of SMA NU Palangka Raya the highest score errors were misformation, the second errors were omission, the third errors were addition and the last errors were misordering. Meanwhile, the research indings of errors using passive voice at the eleventh grade of SMA NU Palangka Raya based on comparative taxonomy the highest problems of the students were developmental errors, the second were nterlingual errors and the lowest problems were other.
Based on the findings above, it is suggested the teacher should pay attention to the material of simple past tense, simple future tense and simple past future tense, then give explain about the material intensively. The second, it is suggested the teachers know about the difficulties students, so they will give more and more materials, which the highest types on errors occurred in teaching simple future tense and past future tense. The highest error is on misformation.
