THE IMPROVEMENT OF STUDENTS’ ENGLISH VOCABULARIES BY USING ENGLISH SONG AT THE SEVENTH GRADE STUDENTS OF MTS HIDAYATULLAH BAHAUR



The main purpose of the study is to measure the effect of using English song in improving on the students’scores at the seventh grade student of MTs Hidayatullah Bahaur. The type of study was quasi-experimental especially nonrandomized control group, pre-test post-test design and the writer used quantitative approach in finding out the answer of the problem of the study, the
data collecting technique used test and documentation. There were two classes of study namely VII-A as experimental group and VII-B as control group whit the total number student which VII-A the total student are 32 and VII-B class the total student are 34. The sample of study is determined using cluster sampling technique. Both groups were given pre-test before treatment. Then, the student of experiment group was taught by using English song and control group was taught without using English song. Finally, the writer gave post-test to both groups.
In the result of hypothesis was using calculation of T-test with SPSS 17.0. The result of t-test with SPSS 17.0 calculation found the calculated value (tobseved) was greater than ttable) at 1% and 5% significance level or 2.000 2.660. it was interpreted than alternative hypothesis (ha) stated that using English song in increasing on the students vocabularies score was accepted and Null Hypothesis (ho) stating that using English song in increasing on the students vocabularies score wasrejected. It meant that using English song in teaching gave effect on the
students’ vocabularies at the seventh grade ofMTs Hidayatullah Bahaur.
